Come... Play... Explore...
Programming
The Staff of BR 25 are working tirelessly to ensure that the Event will offer the stellar and high quality educational opportunities that you've come to expect from Black Rose. We're working hard to ensure that this year's educational offerings will be ones you talk about for a long time, with never before seen classes and a wonderful mix of the best regional and national presenters that the BDSM community has to offer.
Call for BR 25 presenters has closed. Our thanks to all those who submitted proposals.
BR will have spaces and classes for a range of orientations and genders including trans friendly and single sex play spaces. Classes will be taught from a broad selection of perspectives with a goal of creating an environment that fosters discussion and learning.
Topics: The motto for BR 25 is Come Play Explore. As such we are looking for a broad range of topics from a diverse pool of educators in the community.
Classes take four general formats:
Hands On – As the name implies the goal of these classes is for every attendee to get their hands dirty with the class material. The tao of single tail, rope bondage, getting bloody with your buddy, you name it! During these two hour morning classes presenters are expected to spend the entire two hours facilitating hands on instruction.
Lecture – A standard format where one or more presenters (including panels) discuss something they are passionate and knowledgeable about. Demonstrations are highly encouraged for appropriate material. Each lecture should include time for attendees to ask questions about the content. Presenters are expected to provide the majority of the content and should plan on leading the lecture.
Discussion Groups – Distinct from a lecture in that the facilitator should provide topics and background for the discussion as well as acting as a leader for the group.
Author's Corner – BR 25 is happy to invite BDSM authors to discuss their books with attendees. Any genre having to do with BDSM including graduate or post-graduate level academic work is welcome. The work must be published at the time of submission, though extenuating circumstances can be considered. The author must be prepared to lead a discussion about their work and preform a 5-10 minute reading. Author's are welcome to sell their books during their corner. Please note there is limited space for our Author's Corner.
Compensation:
In exchange for presenting at least one class, presenters will receive a complimentary registration for the entire conference, an event t-shirt and pin. Additionally their names (or pseudonyms), a photograph (if desired), class descriptions and a small scene relevant biography will appear on appropriate event materials. BR can provide some classroom resources such as hand outs, dungeon equipment, safety equipment (chucks, wipes, etc) to aide with the presentation. All presenters are encouraged to provide BR with a selected bibliography and resources for further learning for their courses which will be posted to the event site, after the event is over.
